AboutBorn and raised in a small suburban town called Meudon-La-Forêt, at the gate of Paris in France, Thierno Gueye is pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Studio Art with an Environmental Studies concentration at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. His work as an undergraduate revolves mostly around the use of charcoal and was influenced by many experiences including a study abroad trip to Italy in the first half of Spring 2019, where he learned about the traditional sight-size drawing technique in the Charles H. Cecil Studios of Florence. Passionate about the natural and built environment, Thierno will pursue a Master's Degree in Architecture at Rhode Island School of Design starting in Fall 2021.
StatementT.Vessel is a prototype car concept design to take anyone on a drive through the visuals and emotions spanning around its creation and uptake. Through the drawings of the front view, the inside of the car as well as the dealership, juxtaposed with a poem for each, I aim to explore moods and chains of thoughts I have, especially when driving alone. These themes are yours to put a name on and make your own interpretation of. In the meantime, allow me to invite you to take a seat on the passenger's side and to enjoy the ride.
